St Anne's Park Mile in Memory Walk

Lorena was born 31st of July 2016, with Down Syndrome which was unknown to us at the time of her birth. Additionally, Lorena had Transient Abnormal Myelopoiesis (TAM) the worst transient form of Leukaemia known. Tatiana and I immediately fell in love with our beautiful little daughter and endeavoured to do everything to save her but unfortunately, her health deteriorated, and she passed away on the 19th of August 2016. We are heartbroken; however, we have openly accepted the gifts our daughter has given both of us. The main gift being love. Our mission is to help others who cannot cope so well and try to educate society in dealing with bereaved parents and supporting parents who have lost a child.
On Saturday September 8th at 12:00pm we are hosting an inaugural Mile in Memory Walk at St Anne's Park Raheny Dublin , in remembrance of Lorena and all other children who have died suddenly.
All funds raised are been donated to the FirstLight charity who since 1977; has been providing crisis intervention and free professional counselling services nationwide to bereaved parents and family members who have suddenly lost a child or young person.
In 2017 over 2,000 children and family members received support from FirstLight. Funding for its free services continues to be a significant challenge for FirstLight, particularly in light of the increased level of referrals. However, despite these financial constraints they have maintained delivery of the services free of charge for 41 years.
We cordially invite everyone to join us on September 8th at 12:00pm on this very special remembrance event, where friends, family and colleagues across the country can come together to remember someone special and raise much-needed funds which help FirstLight continue its essential work. Alternatively if you cannot attend please help us raise much needed funds to support FirstLight services.
