Hair for Hope

My name is Kandrick Pacheco Fluker. I'm a junior at the Denver Center for International Studies, where each student participates in long term projects which we call "Passages". Passages are meant to inspire personal growth within individual students, and for this reason, I've chosen to cut my hair and raise money for the St. Baldrick's* foundation. I've been growing my hair since the second grade, and it's been a characteristic that has really set me apart from other young men my age. Some people really admire it, and others often advise me to cut it. Either way, I've always loved it, and I think that's what is ultimately important. Although I've never really wished to part with it, I will be cutting my hair sometime in the middle of May, 2017 . I'm hoping that my hair, through the Hair We Share foundation will reach a child in need who has had similarly textured hair, or a child who would like to express individuality by trying something different with their appearance. I hope that anyone who has ever been affected--directly or indirectly--by cancer can support this cause, or share it with anyone that they think may be interested. Any type of effort helps, and will be greatly appreciated. If you can't donate money, and are interested in hair donations, I would greatly recommend the St. Baldrick's foundation, which offers hair donation events, and many suggestions for organizations which collect these donations. Lastly, thank you to anyone who has even taken the time to read this, and thank you for supporting creative expression!
