We are incredibly grateful for those who continue to contact the family to donate to the “Go-Fund” site. Thank you so much for your generosity and support at this very difficult time. The family has had the benefit of the funds raised on Go Fund as well as resources and services that have been provided by the Marines and the Army and other military organizations. For this reason, the family would be greatly honored and appreciative of those who continue to want to donate to send their donations, in honor of Brett, to either the Fisher House (www.fisherhouse.org) for military families and/or Safe Rides at Sac State/ASI. This fund was for the family of Brett Thomas Jones, who died tragically and suddenly in a motor vehicle accident on the morning of February 11th. The funds will assist the family with funeral costs and with flying his brother Dustin, who is deployed for the U.S. army in Korea, home for the funeral. Any contribution is deeply appreciated by his mother Cathy and brothers Dustin and Marcus, and the entire family (grandmother, aunts, uncles and cousins).
My name is Irene, I am married to Brett's cousin Brian, Linda's son. Linda is Brett's mom Cathy's oldest sister and because I am slightly computer savy was asked to start the page. The donations will be handled by Brett's mom's sister Martha who lives with Cathy and is helping her with funeral arrangements and financial matters during this devastating time. The donations are to go toward funeral costs and if any monies remain, Cathy would like to make a donation in his name, perhaps to the US Marines, but no decisions have been made at this time.
Many family and friends have come to the house or reached out and totally overwhelmed us with all of the love and support that has already been shown and donated in Brett's memory. It is testament to the incredible person he was and how very loved he continues to be. Thank you on behalf of Brett's family.
