“To lose your house and everything you own is a terrible thing, but it gave me an opportunity to realize that experiences and memories are much more impactful than material objects. Music is an intangible thing that has been a savior for me through all of this heartbreak, and coming to school every day to sing in our choir has brought me happiness in this painful time. Even though my house burned down, the only thing I’ve been worried about is losing our opportunity to sing at Carnegie Hall this spring.” Hannah Bivin, member of Santa Rosa High School’s Concert Choir, and victim of the Santa Rosa Tubbs Fire

Santa Rosa High School's Concert Choir has been accepted into an honor choir at Carnegie Hall in New York City.  However, the fires that burned through Santa Rosa in October of 2017 have left some students and teachers at SRHS homeless.  And still WE RISE!  Because our community has sustained such devastating economic hardship, we are reaching out here to a wider fundraising community to help these students achieve this dream.

This is a rare and incredible opportunity for us, and we want to make it possible for all of our students to share this experience.  Our deadline is April 1, and all 70 of the kids in our choir are hoping to participate; we want to make this happen for everyone! If you could help us reach our dream in any way, you would be helping students achieve the opportunity of a lifetime!

The Santa Rosa High Choral Music Boosters is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization that supports the Choral program at Santa Rosa High, so your donations are tax deductable. Our Tax ID # is 20-5914969.

To all our students, parents, SRHS Panthers, our families, and friends, and our wonderful Bay Area chorale and symphonic supporters -- WE HAVE MADE IT! We posted our final payment to MCP today. Our bill has no balance due. In the end, we found that pretty much what was needed was what came forward for us. We can not thank enough all our donors and supporters, most especially, our choir family here at SRHS, and in Santa Rosa, but our choir family everywhere, the Weills, the Earls, the Seidenfelds, the San Benito Chorale, the San Ramon Valley High School Choirs, and supporters far and wide. We are excited about announcing the winners of our Spring R_ffle at our Command Performance on 4/19. Until then, the kids will be doing some r_ffle and bake sales to help them cover food and incidentals while in NYC (a most expensive locale to be sure!). Love to all. #choir #carnegiehallmeetthepanthers

With an amazing amount of support from all over the place -- we had straight up donations from foundations and other charitable giving, from choirs and symphonies near and far, from loved ones near and far, -- our expectations were blown away! We made our challenge grant! Thank you so much to Sanford & Joan Weill and the Weill Family Foundation for inspiring and incentivizing us all! There's still $$ needed for transportation and feeding the kids in NYC, but we can pay our bill.
I'm almost afraid to say this outloud
BUT WE ARE GOING TO CARNEGIE HALL!!!!!!!!

Go Fund Me requires that we give this disclaimer as of how the kids set up this account -- it says the fund benefits Michelle Glaubiger, but this is not so. I am Michelle Glaubiger, and I am the VP of the SRHS Choral Booster Board, and person in charge of this project. I am also the admin for the SRHS Choirs FB page. Somehow, as the students set up this account, they put me as the beneficiary. Rest assured, that all the funds from the Go Fund Me are directly linked to our SRHS Boosters Bank Account. All monies donated through Go Fund Me for our Carnegie Hall Trip are designated as such by our treasurer Dave Staples -- he manages all our donations. All our donations go through our Booster PayPal, or Booster Bank Account at Exchange Bank, or via checks received at SRHS or through our P.O. Box 3048, Santa Rosa Ave., Santa Rosa, CA. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Tax ID No. 20-5914969. Thank you for your donations to this very worthy cause! Michelle Glaubiger, VP, SRHS Choral Music Boosters

We have been faced with a challenge grant from the Weill Foundation -- we are doing all we can do raise the $$ we need to trigger that grant. With your help and with the help of our fabulous Panther Connie Codding, we are sure we will make that goal! Thanks to everyone for your support!
