Hello! We are Natalie Grueninger and Karina Juncal, founders of Ripples of Love , a not-for-profit organisation based in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire whose mission is to serve, uplift and improve the lives of people in need, namely through the provision of Big Love Boxes (more on those below). To reach more people and spread the word about the work we do, we need your help.
The Need is Real
With the increased cost of housing and the rising cost of living in Australia, millions are finding it hard to make ends meet. While we can’t help everyone single-handedly, together we can make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and families in need.
Our Vision
That all members of our community be able to live fulfilled and purposeful lives and have their basic needs met, while also feeling connected to, supported by and cared for by the community. It is our belief that one small act of kindness can have far-reaching positive effects and be a powerful catalyst for change.
Our Work
After receiving a referral from a family support service or community support service, we find a volunteer or group of volunteers to build a Big Love Box for the individual or family in need. When the box is ready, we arrange collection/drop off and delivery.
What is a Big Love Box?
A Big Love Box is a personalised care package filled with essentials that an individual or a family desperately require, but it also ideally contains something connected to the recipient’s interests, hobbies or passions – something to nourish the soul. The boxes are lovingly put together by a generous member of the community, using a profile that we provide.
The Benefits are Twofold
We’ve witnessed firsthand how our Big Love Boxes serve and benefit both the recipient and the giver. The very act of making a Big Love Box for another gives a person or family the fulfilling opportunity to think about and look after another in a way that is distinctly hands-on, personal and unique.
A Sense of Belonging
We know that our Big Love Boxes are not a long-term solution to the problems and challenges that people are facing, but they do offer recipients a powerful reminder that they matter, that people care and that they belong. It’s this very sense of belonging that can be a life-changing catalyst for healing and positive change.
Our Fundraising Goal
Our organisation is growing at a rate that we could not have anticipated. To continue and advance the work we’re doing we need your help to raise $5,000 to pay for running costs and start-up expenses including: a professionally designed website with an online referral component; domain name registration and yearly website hosting fees; public liability insurance; promotional material design and printing costs. The latter will allow us to go out into the community and spread the word about our services at local markets and events. Any money raised in excess of our goal will be used to directly benefit people in need.
Your donation will help us reach the people who most need our help. Every single dollar helps spread the ripples of love.
We also ask that you help us spread the word by sharing this campaign on social media.
