Lauren Josie Ray is a mother, a feminist, an engineer, a Kentucky metal scene legend and a proud beautiful transgender woman.
Lauren was recently the victim of an unprompted attack by the organizers of the music festival Louisville Deathfest, an action that has since seen national attention on MetalSucks.com ( http://www.metalsucks.net/2017/12/08/louisville-deathfest-is-fucking-awful/ ).
Louisville Deathfest has since continued their social media assault by making light of her need for gender confirmation surgery, calling it “Lauren’s Cock Lopping”
I want to make these people eat their word by helping raise the money Lauren needs for her Gender Confirmation Surgery.
Gender Confirmation Surgery (GCS) is a prohibitively expensive procedure, and one so many trans women desperately need to alleviate their dysphoria and be the best person they hope to be. I know for Lauren that it's something that affects her daily and currently it is unfunded by her employer's insurance plan. If we want to support Lauren at a time when she is being bullied just for being transgender, we can help by funding something special for her.
The current goal of $10,000 is actually only a fraction of the approximately $30k cost of the procedure, but should be more than enough of a start for Lauren to secure a spot with a surgeon.
