Help us Sponsor a 2nd Refugee Family

SPARC is a Hamilton based community group focused on sponsoring refugees to come to find a new home & life in Hamilton. We want to use our time and money to ease as much suffering and struggle that refugees have to endure. At a time when the global refugee crisis is at its most dire, and needs the most support, politicians seek to divide us on this issue. We stand united in support of those in need, in return we are given the honour of introducing diverse, hardworking, intelligent and beautiful people into our Hamilton community. This is our second BVOR sponsorship, and with your help, we will be able to sustain our efforts and sponsor a family every year. Thank you very much for your support!
Our first sponsorship was a family of 4 from Syria. This fundraiser is to support our second sponsorship which will be a family of 4 (a mother and her three boys) from Syria.
As sponsors we are responsible for providing and paying for housing, clothing, groceries, transit, telecommunications, internet and more (for 12 months). Most of the money is given directly to the family in monthly stipends, and some of it is used to pay for other expenses like interpreter services. If our fundraising goals are met, and by the end of the sponsorship we are left with more money than we had needed, we will put the money towards future sponsorships and the plane ticket debt incurred by refugees coming to Canada (the Canadian government does not pay for their transport to Canada).
