Keeping an Eye Out for Foster...

$190 of $900 goal

Raised by 8 people in 33 months
Foster (aka Space Dog) needs your help to pay for his emergency eye surgery stat, as he is in a lot of pain (notwithstanding a heavy dose of pain killers).

The genetics of Boston terriers being what it is, Foster's left eye has succumbed to the negative consequences of a prolapsed lens and subsequent blinding glaucoma...and the eye needs to come out ASAP so he can get some relief from the pressure build up and pain, thus returning to a normal life, albeit monocular.

Poor Foster!

On the bright side...he gets a glass eye! How cool is that?

Can you throw Space Dog a bone or two to help pay for the eye surgery? A contribution of as little as $1 is much appreciated.

You know Space Dog will love you forever and karma will repay you indefinitely.

Thanks so much!

Hi Everyone!

I have an update on Foster below. But first, thanks to all who contributed to his fund. We are still far from the goal, so chip in a buck or two if you can. If everyone gives a little, it means a lot to Foster and his continued care.

Today I had him in to the UW vet, 2 weeks post eye surgery, to get the stitches out. Everything looked great and now Foster doesn't have to wear the "martini glass" (head cone) anymore, something Deborah's shins will appreciate.

Foster is as energetic and rambunctious as ever. Dogs don't have vanity, and Foster doesn't even know or care he doesn't have an eye. I'll probably get him an eye patch just so he looks cool.

The vet tested the pressure in his remaining eye and it was quite normal. Hopefully, he won't need surgery in that eye, if the lens stays put. There is no way of knowing. We just hope.

So, here's a picture of Foster, and once again, throw him a bone (donation) if you can!

Foster is out of surgery and doing fine, but he still needs your help during recovery.

The eye removal surgery was smooth and complication free. Foster will have some swelling and bruising around the eye socket, but this is normal.

The stitches come out in 2 weeks and then we can start thinking of fun cosmetic ways to adorn his face. Pirate eye patch? Stick on googly eyes.

Post your ideas when you make a donation.

Thanks all.

Joe and Foster.
