Hola a todos! Os cuento de que va este proyecto. Estamos ante la mayor crisis de desplazamiento desde la II Guerra Mundial. Más de 65 millones de personas han abandonado sus hogares huyendo de conflictos bélicos, persecución y violación de derechos humanos. Han atravesado fronteras, haciendo una de las rutas más peligrosas del mundo, poniendo en riesgo sus vidas y las de sus hijos. Ahora se encuentran sin hogar, sin comida y vulnerables ya que todavía están a riesgo de ser víctimas de abuso, tráfico de humanos, y violación (sobretodo mujeres y niños viajando solos).
Estos refugiados ahora dependen de la ayuda de ONGs, voluntarios y donaciones para sobrevivir. Hay un campamento en Dunkirk (Norte de Francia) donde viven 1,500 refugiados en cabañas de madera construidas por voluntarios. El 10 de abril hubo un incendio que dejo a 80% de los refugiados (más de 100 niños) sin cama, que hace aún más urgente nuestra misión. La cual es llenar tantas furgonetas como sean necesarias con todos los recursos que podamos reunir y transportarlas al campamento en Francia. Por otro lado, hemos creado esta pagina para todos aquellos que quieran ayudar pero no puedan venir en persona a traer recursos. Aquí podéis donar dinero para que podamos comprar más recursos y la otra parte del dinero irá a la ONG basada en el campamento. Esta ONG se ha encargado de ofrecer refugio, asistencia médica, comida, agua potable, educación infantil y mucho más. También centran una gran parte de sus esfuerzos en capacitar a los refugiados para ser dueños de su propio destino y restaurar su independencia, financiando programas de educación, proyectos de vivienda sostenibles y programas de capacitación laboral.
Hello there! Here’s some information about our project. The world is facing the largest refugee crisis since World War II. More than 65 million people have had to abandon their homes and flee their countries due to conflict, persecution and poverty amongst other factors. They have travelled thousands of miles over land and water on one of the world’s deadliest routes, risking their lives and those of their children in the hope of reaching their goal. Sadly, however, the danger doesn’t end there. These people are now homeless, hungry and vulnerable - still at risk of abuse, human trafficking and rape (particularly women and children travelling alone).
These refugees now depend on the help from NGOs, volunteers and donations to survive. There’s a camp in Dunkirk where there are currently 1500 refugees living in wooden huts built by volunteers. A large fire broke out on the 10th of April at the camp, leaving 80% of the residents (more than 100 children) homeless, which makes our mission all the more urgent. Our project entails filling vans (as many as necessary) with essential supplies kindly donated and transporting them to Dunkirk. On the other hand we’ve created this donations page for those of you who would love to help but can’t make it do the supply drop-off. We will use the money raised to buy more of the urgently needed supplies and a part of the money will go to the NGO based at the camp. This NGO has provided shelter, medical assistance, food, water, education and much more. They also focus a large part of their efforts on empowering refugees to be masters of their own destinies and restore their independence, funding education programmes, sustainable housing projects, and job training programmes.
