SONGS4HOUSTON BENEFIT
This is GOFUNDME campaign to help raise donations to support the devastation that has occured in Houston due to Harvey, the rain, flooding and continued issues for displaced residents, their families and pets.
We are going to have a 12 hour marathon of performances by the San Jose Pop Up Choir, we will be performing non-stop, song after song with the expectation of raising funds for both the humanitarian aid and animal rescue funds.
The event will occur on Friday Sept 22nd at 8pm and will continue until 8am the next morning in San Jose, CA.
Who gets the funds? 75% will go to Feeding Texas a group of local food banks supplying food to those in need, and 25% will go to the Austin Pets Alive in support of their relocation efforts. At the end of the event we will tally both donations given in person and online.
The cost of producing this event will be covered by the group's organizer and attendees. All monies received will be donated and distributed, no overhead charges or fees will go back to the group.
Donations of any amount will be accepted until the benefit concludes, but dontations of $5 or more lets you select a song that we will sing and with donations of $20 or more, we will have the song performed LIVE via Facebook for your listening pleasure (or if we don't know the song, for your amusement).
If you can donate in advance (please be sure to post your song request in the comment section), plus we will be sure to sing your song first - if you are in the San Jose area, you are welcome to join us and hear a song or two, donate and even join us on stage for a tune.

Through the power of song, we have built relationships, supported each other and found new ways to make a difference.
