At Solid Foundation, we believe every child has the potential for greatness. Each child is special.
A lot of the curriculum of the public school system is built with a one size fits all mentality. It doesn’t account for what makes each child special or what life occurrences may impact their method or ability to learn.
Many parents are at their wits end because the environment of the public school system is not conducive to their child's unique learning style. Here are a few of the concerns that we often hear from parents:
-My child is falling behind in school and I don't know what to do
-My child has been labeled because...
-My child is reading way below grade level
-This Common Core Curriculum is not working my child
-My child is more advanced than his/her grade level and acting out because he/she isn't being challenged
-I need help with my child because....
At Solid Foundation, we treat every student as an individual. With a different learning style, personality
and background that influence the way he or she adapts and grows.
Individualized learning plans allow us to mentally, emotionally, and academically empower our students and embrace......
Instead of punishing students for their unique style of learning, we embrace it and build on it.
Your donation of any amount will enable us to reach out and help bright and intelligent students who are sitting in public school classrooms frustrated, confused and reading below grade level.
With your generosity, we would like to help even more students who are seeking something different than what they've experienced in the public school. Your donations will help us with the following:
-New computers for students & staff to ensure our students are at a technological advantage
-Scholarships for At-Risk students with financial need
-Software to improve reading engagement and comprehension
-Materials and Teachers for our enrichment programming which includes Entrepreneurship, Performing Arts, Fine Arts, and Technology
-Vans which would allow us to offer transportation for students outside of the Stone Mountain, GA area
-Funds to expose our students to new educational, cultural, and technological field trips
As we begin our program planning and recruitment for the 2017-2018 school year, we need to secure funds right away to know how many need-based scholarships we can offer and how many teachers we can bring on for the expansion we have planned. Any amount is truly appreciated in expanding the program and reaching even more children who need our help in learning on their own terms.
