Help a parent to a child with cystic fibrosis help others by building a solar powered and environmentaly sustainable apartment complex to house lower income families and students along with proving that a sustainable green building design can be cost effective and superior to current standard construction methods.
The plan is to build an apartment complex that will maximize solar, wind, and water energy production while utilizing passive solar and alternative building techniques to minimize energy usage while still providing luxury apartment living. A number of units will be dedicated to lower income housing with priorities to families with students in nearby school districts. By fostering an association with the Las Cruces Public Schools, New Mexico State University and Dona Ana Branch Community College we can provide students with an avenue to learn sustainable building trade skills by providing an opportunity for hands on experience in building and maintaining these systems
A number of units will be dedicated to lower income housing with priority to families with students in nearby school districts. We'll provide not only a safe enviroment but a home that families can be proud of. When a child is immersed in an enviroment rich in science it fosters a curitosity about the world around them and provides a foundation of learning that will be with them throughout their lives.
By contributing to this project you're helping:
*The family of Alex who has cystic firosis to be able to get the best possible care for him in his fight against this life long disease and to live a long healthy life.
*Low income families have a home they can thrive and feel safe in, be close to schools, and be proud to live in.
*Those with Cystic Fibrosis by spreading awareness and raising money to research new treatments and eventually a cure
*Our communities by spreading the word of green energy building and its benefits
*Our enviroment by showing that a luxury apartment complex can be built environmentaly friendly with low energy cost and still provide the ammentaties we are all accustomed to.
We can build housing developments that are self sustainable and in a way that will help out as many members of our community as possible. This is only the first one, after this complex is built and we prove it can be done, we can expand and house so many more.
