So much more than a bookstore!

BookSmart has been Morgan Hill’s independently owned bookstore for about 23 years but is currently in danger of having its doors closed; after an expensive and necessary move to its new location.
This store along with Brad Jones and Cinda Meister have had such a huge and amazing impact on my life along with many others who have walked through the doors of BookSmart. They are to blame for my love (let’s face it, it’s really more of an obsession) with books, and my dream of owning my own bookstore/café. You quickly become part of the BookSmart family, and are accepted with open arms, no matter your history. Their love for the Morgan Hill community, arts, and literacy shows through everything they do. They helped establish the Morgan Hill Friday Night Music series. During summer months, every Friday, a side street would close down, a stage would be set up, a crowd would form, and the music rang. I loved working these nights because the magic of music was truly in the air. Music, warm nights, laughter, dancing, ice cream, books and coffee, it just didn’t get any better than that. They have and still do host arts and craft days, book clubs, music days and a variety of other activities, that bring the community together.
I can honestly say that my life is truly better today due to the impact BookSmart, Brad Jones, Cinda Meister, and the entire BookSmart family has had on me. If there is any way you can help keep the dream alive for Brad, Cinda, the BookSmart family and the community, it would be much appreciated. Every little bit helps and please help us spread the word as fast as possible because we are on a very strict time schedule. Thank you all in advance!
