Help me save my dog, Snoopy

UPDATE: I just published a post (click here) detailing exactly how the money is being spent.

My little dog Snoopy's heart has grown too big. Unless he has heart surgery, doctors only give him a few more months to live. As things stand now, surgery to repair his mitral valve is the only way to decrease the size of his heart, and his only chance to survive. Although this is a difficult step for me to take, I won't be able to afford this procedure without your help.

The surgery costs over €30,000. I already raised much of it through my own life savings, a bank loan, money borrowed from friends & family and I need to raise another €5,000 - €10,000. All the money will of course go straight to the doctors performing the surgery. Though I might be a stranger to you…I will be forever grateful for any help, no matter how small, and I am sure Snoopy is too.

SNOOPY’S STORY
I rescued Snoopy years ago from a kill shelter in New Jersey, USA. He was found in a trash bin abandoned by a family after Christmas and kept in a birdcage until the day I stumbled upon his picture on the shelter's website and rushed there to pick him up. Though he had been fiercely mistreated he never gave up hope and never lost his love for life. He has always been full of love, a humble creature who never barks or expects anything more than basic human kindness.

Snoopy one day after we rescued him. He still takes this blanket everywhere he goes.

He has evolved into an independent and extremely intelligent dog. He currently finds himself happier about life than ever before. He brings such joy to my life and a smile to everyone's face who met him. I cannot imagine my everyday life without him any longer. Thankfully, we found a dedicated team of doctors willing to save him!

THE TEAM THAT WILL SAVE HIM!
A wonderful Japanese-French cardiac surgical team lead by Dr. Masami Uechi and Dr. Sabine Bozon will perform the miracle surgery on Snoopy that will save his life. I am still amazed that such advances in medical technology and veterinary medicine experts exist. If I hadn't been able to find them, Snoopy's future would look a lot more dire.

PLEASE SHARE SNOOPY’S STORY!
Most importantly, I hope Snoopy’s story will spread to other dog families to let them know that this surgery exists. Mitral valve disease is very common for small dogs but only a select few doctors on our planet have the necessary experience to perform this specific kind of surgery. Other dogs that brought equal joy to their owners' lives might have fallen to this disease without it ever being diagnosed, or without them knowing the dogs could have been saved with the right procedure. Maybe Snoopy's ordeal can contribute to an increased awareness for this condition and help save other puppies around the world. There is an excellent online community for dog parents who are going through something similar called Mighty Hearts Project. They have been a huge help to me and Snoopy!
