Help us replace our marching band trailer! We carry more than equipment...We carry pride for our future!
We are the Performing Arts Boosters for the Mighty Panther Marching Band from Snider High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Through Snider's program, students learn not only how to play music and march in time but also how to find family in friends, pride through practice and courage through commitment. Our kids work hard through blazing heat and numbing cold- the sight and sound of their dedication is a staple and a symbol in our neighborhood and community. On the road, our semi-truck not only transports the band's equipment but also serves as a beacon for the kids to find their way in a parking lot sea of yellow school buses and as a symbol of the band itself.
In 1985, Snider was one of the first bands in the state to have a dedicated semi-trailer for their equipment. The SHS Larry was retired with honors in 1997 and replaced with our current trailer. This trailer has served us faithfully for 19 years but the time has come to retire it , too. We plan to replace it with a 53 foot semi-trailer, outfitted to house and transport uniforms and equipment, and painted with our logo as a symbol and a beacon of Snider Panther Pride.
BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP! With the increased need for funding assistance for the performing arts department, we need to raise about $20,000 to purchase the new trailer and make her road worthy. If you or your child has been through Snider's marching band program or one like it, you understand what a powerful, positive influence it can have on our kids and on our future.
