Hi folks!
I was awarded a grant from Davis Projects for Peace to build a public library/public space for the Salvadoran city of Puerto de La Libertad! The project name is "La Rama"- or The Branch in Spanish. The core idea of this project is the promotion of non-violence in the community and free reading materials for local kids.
But I need your help.
In order to create a space that truly serves the needs of the population (namely, an inviting and safe space in the downtown area where kids and families can come, read, or rest) we are short $1,500 USD (total of $8,500) for building materials.
The funds are transferred as we received them for the construction of the remaining tasks:
- Book shelves
- Structural supports for pergola
- Interior and exterior finishes
- Planting
- Lighting fixtures
