Shelly Smith was born on Sept.10, 1965 and passed away on Jan. 12th, 2015 from complications of a major surgery. Shelly suffered with an eschimic bowel and had most of her lower intestine removed. With massive infections and then liver failure, she finally succomed to her medical issues and passed away. Shelly also suffered from major heart issues and had a total of 17 strokes causing her more issues. Shelly was unable to obtain life insurance, and the costs of her medical and burial expenses has been a major concern with her family. Coping with their loss, the children and Shellys husband have tried everything to get this issue of paying the funeral home, and obtaining a marker for her grave.
Shelly was the most giving and caring woman you could ever meet. She brought people into her home when they had no place else to go. She fed anyone that was hungry, and even though there were 4 people in her family, there was often double that amount around her table at meal times. Shelly had been sick for a few years, yet she still continued to give and give, instead of complaining about her poor health, and the months at a time that she spent in the hospital, she would always say " there's always someone else worse off" We want to see her family concentrate on healing, not the additional stress and worry about this funeral bill. The cost.of the funeral was almost 8000 dollars and the headstone would cost them 1100. That with graveside fee and additional cost from the cemetary, her total bill is over 10,000 dollars.
