Dear friends,
As you may have heard, Skyla's cottage in Glen Ellen burned down.  She had very little time to gather her belongings before evacuating and lost almost everything.  It's a devastating time, and there's no replacing some of what was lost, but let's try to help her with what can be replaced.  Please pass this link on to as many of Skyla's friends as you can.  Thanks!

Everyone,
Thank you for donating to Skyla's fire relief fund. We'll be closing down this campaign, but there is still plenty of help needed for all those affected by the wine country fires. If you would like to continue supporting Skyla and the community, buying local wines from wineries affected is a great way. Sky can be purchased at http://www.skyvineyards.com/sky/store-2/ and Patrick Comiskey just wrote a great article about other wine folks affected and how to buy their wines: http://www.latimes.com/food/dailydish/la-dd-wine-country-fire-20171114-story.html. If you would rather give money, http://undocufund.org or https://www.redwoodcu.org/northbayfirerelief are great local organizations that need donations.

Here's a personal message from Skyla:

My dear friends, family, and generous strangers,

Thank you so much for you incredible love and support during the past few weeks. The wildfires have been so devastating to me, my family, our community and so many others locally. At the same time that I feel keenly that we have had more than a fair share of loss, I feel even more powerfully that I am fortunate in having an endless bounty of love and support. Thanks to all of you, I feel lifted up and strengthened in facing the challenges of rebuilding our lives after the fires. Additionally, through all of your generosity, I feel like financial stress is one thing I do not currently have to deal with. So thank you, for that, which is no small thing, and for making me feel embraced and not alone during this time.

All my love,

Skyla

Friends, a quick update: Skyla and her family are safe. Sadly, the house at Sky was destroyed and the status of the winery and vineyards is unclear right now. Skyla's cousin Jesse and uncle Jerry have been bravely trying to fight the fire and save Jerry's house (Jesse's burned down). Stay tuned for more details and a separate campaign to help Sky recover. Many thanks for your generous contributions to Skyla's fund.

I've been asked by GoFundMe to provide the following information. I'm Nina Wasow, a friend of Skyla's in Berkeley. The funds raised by this campaign will be spent on whatever Skyla needs to get back on her feet: food, clothing, a new place to live, etc. She will be able to transfer the funds directly to her bank account. Thanks.
