Skydiving for Brain Tumour Research
Tax deductible
Help me raise money for a cause close to my heart and in return I will be throwing myself out of a perfectly good plane at 10,00.ft on August 17th.
Last year while on holiday, a close friend of mine had 3 seizures in the space of 2 hours, seemingly out of the blue. After an ambulance ride to the nearest hospital, a CT scan and MRI later she was diagnosed with a significantly sized brain tumour in her left parietal lobe.
In the past year she has had to go through a craniotomy, radiotherapy and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. Each stage of treatment has come with its own pain and challenges.
Brain tumours can affect anyone, any age and even 'benign' ones can have serious long term consequences to health. Of those that are malignant, brain tumours kill more children and people under 40 than any other cancer. Of all national spending on cancer research typically only 1% of that is to brain tumour research.
I plan to do a tandem skydive in the hopes of raising money for the Brain Tumour Research charity who are the only national charity in the UK dedicated to raising funds for continuous and sustainable scientific research into brain tumours. They also act as advocates to the government and larger charities to try and campaign for more funding in this area.
Please help me by sparing what you can so that we can smash the fundraising goal of £500 and help with finding better cures and treatments for a devastating disease.
