We are Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies

goldenrescue.com . We rescue, medically care for, & find forever homes for Golden Retrievers & Golden mixes from Colorado & surrounding states. We are now involved with rescuing abandoned Goldens from the streets of Istanbul, Turkey (aka: Turkey dogs ).
Why Istanbul? Once considered a status symbol by the wealthy in Turkey, Golden Retrievers have become more common and less valued, and hundreds end up being released onto the streets. With few shelters available, dogs of this good-natured breed frequently starve or become prey to the thousands of feral dog packs in the forests around the city. Life is hard for these mostly young dogs. Few live to be senior Goldens in Turkey.
We are raising money to fund the rescue of these sweet dogs so we can place them in homes here where they are wanted. 100% of the funds goes to rescuing and providing medical care for our turkey dogs. The dogs that came in February are thriving in safe forever homes. The dogs received their first ever bed, first toys and first permanent home. We have 18 more Golden's arriving in Denver in May and need donations to pay for their trip & care.
