The Great Lakes Burn Camp (GLBC) is a special place where burn injured children from the ages of 6-17 can meet, play, heal, laugh and grow together. GLBC provides a unique experience that promotes healing, self-esteem, confidence and general well-being for burn injured children. There, kids can share their stories and bond with other kids in an environment with unconditional love and acceptance.

In honour of a recent burn victim Sarah Grundy, Great Lakes Burn Camp is holding a fundraiser.
Every Summer & Winter GLBC works towards sending 20 kids to camp through donations made by friends, families and others who see the common goal of GLBC.

Please help these kids experience an environment Promoting Healing, Self-Esteem, Confidence and
General Well Being for child burn SURVIVORS.

The Story of Sarah Grundy:

Sarah Grundy was injured in a bonfire accident on March 31, 2013. She suffered 3rd degree burns to 86% of her body, and was not expected to live through the night. However, after 7 1/2 months at the U of M Trauma/Burn ICU and the rehabilitation unit, Sarah beat the odds and walked out of the hospital.

While she was in the ICU she met Tracy, a S.O.A.R. volunteer who told her about the Great Lakes Burn Camp. Because of her age, however, she couldn’t attend as a camper, so Tracy was going to get her in as a counselor. Unfortunately, Sarah succumbed to her injury, and unexpectedly passed away on January 23, 2014 at the age of 19 and never got the chance to experience the camp.

In honor of Sarah Jean Grundy, all proceeds will go to the Great Lakes Burn Camp.
