Thanks for those of you who are members and supporters of the Bancroft Musical Theatre family!
Bancroft Musical Theatre (BMT) brings professional quality youth theatre to the San Leandro Community and The San Francisco Bay Area. This spring, we’ re celebrating 29 years in our community with our production of Singin’ In The Rain! 2016 was an exciting year- our programming became available to more schools in the San Leandro Unified School District (SLUSD) and BMT received 13 National Youth Arts Awards for theatre excellence placing the program in the National spotlight.
In the fall, of this year, we partnered with Opus Theatre Works and together Opus Theatre Works and BMT have brought more theatre arts education into SLUSD and are serving over 200 students in four schools.
Theatre changes lives!
So we invite you to become a Community Partner by investing in Bancroft Musical Theatre and our spring production of Singin’ In The Rain. BMT is partially funded by the San Leandro Unified School District.
We, at Opus, are responsible for raising half of our operating budget. The Community Partner Program helps us fill the gap. Our fundraising goal is $10,000. As a Community Partner, you will help create inspiring moments, enduring memories, and opportunities for children in theatre.
BMT is an all inclusive program. All students wanting to participate are welcome, either as performer or in the capacity of stage and technical work. No one is turned away. Members of the creative team and production staff are working professional artists who dedicate their time to the Musical Theatre Program and our students in the SLUSD.
Over 2,500 student performers have experienced Bancroft Musical Theatre. They have grown in confidence, learned to work as a team, and developed an enduring appreciation and love of theatre.
BMT keeps The Arts alive in our schools and in our community. Invest by becoming a Community Partner today!
