Support For Simon
Donation protected

This GoFundMe Campaign is dedicated to one of our own in our soccer community.
I’m sure at one point or another you have run into Simon, the ever-present big personality in the San Francisco soccer community.
Over the past few months he has come to discover that he has been diagnosed with Hereditary Cerebellar Ataxia, a rare brain disease that causes a gradual loss of muscle control, slurred speech, poor balance, fatigue and lack of coordination of voluntary movements, such as walking or picking up objects.
You may have noticed during this time that his involvement in our community has slowly dissipated. That's because he has already started suffering from these symptoms and he can only work in a very limited.
He is currently under treatment at SF General Hospital where he is under close observation from his neurologist undergoing physical as well as speech therapy.
His hopes are to be able to control the symptoms and avoid, or at least prolong, ending up in a wheelchair as long as possible. There’s no known cure for Ataxia currently - only treatment and therapy.
What we are asking of you is to donate what you can to help one of our own or help spread the word.
Your donation will help him with his ongoing medical costs and will extend his ability to be part of our soccer community that he loves so much.
