Sierra's adapted car

Sierra had her driver's permit and had finished driver's ed just a month before her skiing accident. She had been waiting for less icy weather to try for her license. This complicates her licensing process. She must use her own vehicle for the test. The school that trains for adapted driving expects her to go for her test immediately following her lessons, so as to prevent any loss of spirit or skills from time off.

The grants for the adaptation of the car require a newer car, as no one wants to invest in something that may fail soon. They want their investment in the car to last. Likewise, breakdowns are extra dangerous in a wheelchair. In some cases, a dealership will acquire a grant on behalf of a new car purchaser, that adapts the new car with no extra cost to the buyer. This is the scenario we are hoping for. She gets a new (hopefully one of the new lower-cost electric) car that she gets adapted at no further cost. Then the grant for the lessons comes through and she gets her license.

Sierra is an independent young woman, and wants to live that independence as much as she can carve out for herself. This car can be her ticket to independence, and her protection from lack-of-accessibility in public transit, depending on where she ends up at college
With assistance, Sierra can swing her hips to try to stimulate her nerves again.
