Sierra's Journey

Sierra was diagnosed with Leukemia on 7 August. In the horrible week that followed, she was diagnosed with Pre B Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. It is treatable and curable, but it's going to be a long, tough journey.
Intersive treatment has started, and will continue for 6 months or so, and be followed by ongoing treatment for up to 3 years.
Paul and Trish are there by Sierra's side, but with their other little ones just 2 (Madde) and 1 (Arlia), it's going to be a juggle just to look after 3 pre-school aged children. Work is going to have a be a low priority while Sierra undergoes treatment.

After feeling unwell and not quite right for weeks Paul and I pieced together her symptoms and with the help of Dr google came up with Leukaemia. We didn't want to be right, it can't be right, right? When hearing her story a good GP ordered a blood test and xray. Within 3 hours of the test being taken we got the call.
Our fears confirmed. Since Monday 7 August Sierra has been at Royal Childrens Hospital undergoing surgery and tests to narrow in on the specific type of Leukaemia and treatment required to best combat it.
