Sid needs your help to get healthy and strong!
This sweet boy was recently saved from a rural shelter by Paws in the City in Dallas, Tx. He weighs half of what he should; he is so starved and defeated, he just stood there staring at us when we pulled him. When the vet examined him we discovered that someone had pulled all of his teeth and damaged his jaw. He has 7 retained roots and those will have to be professionally extracted when he's healthier. He also has extensive damage to his ears. On top of all that he's heart worm positive. All we could do in that moment is put his body in our hands and say, 'we love you, don't worry, you're safe, we got you.'
Sid is very, very sweet and kind. He will wag his tail just a little when you pet him. He visibly perks up when he sees you are making his special food. He enjoys walking outside and laying in the sun. He is only 5 years old. He can make a comeback and have a wonderful life! Sid’s story of abuse and neglect can have a happy ending with your help. First, he needs to gain weight; we have found a special food that he can eat with his damaged jaw but it is expensive and he will need to be on it several months in order to gain his weight back safely. We have a wonderful 4H student who is donating all the goats milk he needs so that will rejuvenate his gut and immune system. As soon as he is strong enough we will need to extract the teeth roots, treat for heart worms and other medical issues.
