Jackie Woodhouse is a mother of 6, grandmother of 10 and teacher to 35 beloved kindergartners.
Last month she became unexpectedly very ill. She was diagnosed first with pneumonia and suffered a collapsed lung that required a major emergency surgery. Over the course of the following few weeks she endured several complications and 3 more emergency surgeries before doctors discovered a small hole in her stomach that they believed was the route cause of her medical problems and infections.
She remains in the hospital with several large incisions, drainage tubes, and a complicated infection. Her recovery time and overall fate are uncertain. Her husband has been unable to spend time with her at the hospital because he has to work to support them, and Jackie is only granted 6 paid days off per school year.
Jackie's family will be left with a mountain of debt in medical costs after all of her surgeries and hospital stays. Any support given will be used to help Jackie's husband be able to spend some time with her while she is recovering and to help them manage the living/medical costs that have accumulated in this terrifying time.
