Show ProMo Love!
Project Moshen needs your help! Dancing our way into our 7th season we are trying to become more involved with our community. 2018 is in full swing with us
teaching at Universities, organizing our own Artist showcase series: Artistry Unfolded, producing our home season show this April, and performing in various showcases in Philly, New Jersey and New York City. The most exciting one of all becoming a NON- PROFIT ORGANIZATION! Thats where you come in...Take a minute or two to watch what we are all about and read all we do in one fiscal year. Every penny counts and we highly appreciate the support!
Founded in 2010, Project Moshen, a modern female Jazz dance company, set out to revive the style of Jazz dance in Philadelphia. Project Moshen entertains audience members of all ages & backgrounds with modern-day shows that intrigue, excite & captivate the average dance viewer, along with the seasoned dancer. Artistic Director, Kelli Moshen, combines her East Coast and West Coast training to form her own urban, athletic, intricate, & up-tempo movement style that keeps her audience at the edge of their seats. Although we are all active performers, Project Moshen’s main mission is to educate and give back to the Philadelphia community through dance.
Project Moshen dancers can be found teaching at local dance studios in the Philadelphia suburbs and South Jersey area, along with visiting universities, such as Villanova University, where they train and set pieces on the Dance majors for their concerts. Project Moshen holds Master Classes and Residencies at local high schools such as Benjamin Rush High, Episcopal Academy: and local dance studios such as Institute of Dance Artistry, Longwood Gardens of the Performing Arts and more. Our work in Philadelphia high schools is especially important, because it allows us to perform outreach into the community to young artists who may not have access to dance or other forms of art otherwise. Besides our outreach, Project Moshen produces multiple shows a year, including Artistry Unfolded, the annual spring show, the Holiday Show, EXCERPTS benefitting a charity of choice.
With your help we can pass our limits and do more than we've ever dreamed. With these funds, we will be able to do more promotion for our home season show, get new costumes, pay for rehearsal space, and have a longer run for productions. We can obtain a bigger theatre, so more audience members can attend our performances, and produce more shows each year. When we get selected to perform in Dance Festivals around the country, we won't have to worry that we can't showcase our talents or be a part of the dance world because there is no funding.
We love everything we do, and one of Project Moshen's main goals is to be non-profit. To be an established non-profit, there is a slight fee. When we receive non-profit status, we wish to continue all the efforts above and more. One of the most important is to teach more open classes to the community, especially the children who can't afford dance on their own. We want to share our craft with children, to use movement to express their feelings, gain confidence, motivation, and have fun. Project Moshen's main objective is to give back through dance, and you can help that ideal transform into reality.
