Steven Short Family Fund

Donation protected
On May 20, 2015, Steven Short was in a tragic mountain bike accident. He was airlifted to the University of Virginia Medical Center. There he was treated in the Neuro-Intensive Care Unit for seven days. His injuries were critical and ultimately fatal. Steven passed away May 27, 2015 from traumatic brain injuries.

The purpose of this fund is to help support the financial needs of Steven’s family. Steven is survived by his loving wife, Ashley and their three small children. The medical expenses incurred is unknown at the moment as his wife is dealing with a lot of legality and paperwork, but we do know that the loss of a spouse will have a financial impact on Steven’s family regardless. The funds raised will be used for funeral cost, any unsupported medical expenses, and the family. Any additional funding will be invested in a college saving plan for their three children.

Steven was so loved by many and we know that a large community is grieving the loss of a great man. This is evident by the 1,000 plus in attendance at his funeral. The family has been so blessed with the incredible support thus far in the form of meals, child care, thoughts and prayers, flowers, gifts, etc. If you feel inclined to make a contribution in memory of Steven for his family, please do so. Any amount is appreciated. At this time, we have set a goal of $75,000. This may change depending on medical expenses.

If you know Ashley or the family personally and would like to donate directly, please feel free to do so, this webpage was created as an accessible, simple way for anyone to make a contribution.

Thank you in advance for your generosity!
