Dear Friends,

Our Shorewood High School Mock Trial Team has won the Wisconsin State Championship!

After winning the Milwaukee regional competition for the 13th straight year, our Shorewood students emerged victorious at the state competition in Madison , and now have the opportunity to represent our state at the Mock Trial National Championship in Boise, Idaho in May. We need your support to help send them there!

Mock Trial at Shorewood High School has a long history of passionate student engagement and dedication that has resulted in consistent success at the regional and state level. This year, the national competition will provide our students with an incredible opportunity to present their talents in front of the nation’s best.

Mock Trial brings out the best in our kids. Our student competitors often learn that they have skills and capabilities they never would have realized but for their Mock Trial experience. Over the years, many of our team members have gone on to study and practice law. But even for those who choose not to go on to pursue law careers, our Shorewood participants grow in self-confidence, analytical skill and the ability to speak persuasively and think quickly – skills they can apply to any profession.

Our Mock Trial team members are athletes, musicians and actors, and manage to juggle practice, rehearsal and performance schedules and excel in their other activities, too. Two of our team members were National Merit Finalists. They are a great, hardworking, bright, funny and dedicated group, and their dedication, along with guidance and mentorship from their coaches, has paid off.

Now you can help send them to Idaho to compete on a national stage! The estimated total cost of the team trip is $15,000. After raising $3,000 offline, we have raised an additional $10,600, leaving us with less than $1,500 left to raise. Your donation can make a big difference for our kids, and provide them with the experience of a lifetime!

Please consider a contribution by April 29 to support this good cause and help our students benefit from unique learning experiences through the National Mock Trial competition. We appreciate your support!

Our firm Urban &Taylor is proud to support your time, talent and commitment to what Jefferson called the "anchor" of our democracy. Hope this is just the beginning for you all as now more than ever there are those who try to take th right to trial by jury away from us. Best of luck!
