Patriot Baseball League Fundraiser

The Patriot Baseball League, located in the Mission Trails Regional Park in Lake Murray, provides opportunities for youth, ages 13-16, from the communities of Allied Gardens, Lake Murray, La Mesa, Mission Trails, Rolando and San Carlos to learn and play the game of baseball. The funds raised from registration fees and donations from sponsors helps to sustain the league from season-to-season with the basic needs of uniforms, insurance, field supplies, etc.   

On July 30, 2016, the league’s snack bar and storage containers were broken into and several items needed to maintain the field and run the snack bar were stolen.  The most important items stolen were the utility cart that is used to help maintain the field as well as equipment used by the coaches, players and volunteers. Although the league has insurance, the losses sustained are far greater than what will hoped to be recouped.  After receiving a County grant to renovate the field and having that completed this past summer, it is more important than ever that the league has the equipment and tools needed to maintain the work that was done.  As for the snack bar losses, the league also needs to replace several items in order to have an operational and functional facility once the season begins. 

In addition to the losses received as a result of the robbery, the league is attempting to replace the worn scoreboard, make repairs to the dugouts and decking, and if possible, replace much needed outfield fencing.  These items cannot be purchased and the proposed projects cannot be completed with the league’s limited funding.  

The league is seeking donations to assist with recouping what was stolen and with the desired projects described earlier.  Your support is greatly appreciated and will ensure the players have a safe and well-maintained field to play on this season.
