Shining Shai's Light

Shai means “gift” in Hebrew and we want his life to be a gift to others as his life has been a gift to us. We are forever changed by this precious little boy.

There are so many levels of emotions and grief that comes with the loss of a child, and now after experiencing this intense grief I want to shine my son’s light and be an advocate for still birth, infant death and the voices of these little ones that are
These community fundraisers are intented to bring communities together and will raise money in the setting up of a community incentive “Shining Shai’s light” to support parents and families of infant loss and how to navigate through the medical system grief and support groups.
The hardest thing is that after the birth I never heard his cry and never saw his eyes. It was a silent birth however very traumatic.
My baby was a very healthy little boy and was ready to enter into this world, however the medical team let us down and didn’t deliver the baby on time.
How this all came about was that I was a high risk VBAC which means that I had a previous c-section and had been signed off to have a vaginal birth with a plan.
One of the things people do not think about is the afterbirth pains, milk coming in and all the things that follows a birth of a baby, but in my case.....without a baby,
I am unable to hold him nurse him kiss him or smell him and my body cries out and aches for my baby. I feel alone and lost and so many other families feel the same way after loosing a child.
He was delivered 54cm long and 4.1kg a big athletic looking baby and he was perfect and always will be my Angel Baby. He will never feel pain or be hurt, pushed bullied or be sick, but will be dancing with the Angels in heaven.
