Sheri Hargrove -Harvey Recovery
My name is Glen Bass, I live in Las Vegas Nevada. My dear friend Sheri Hargrove has been a long time resident of Port Aransas.
Sheri made Port Aransas her home in 2005 and has become a well known shop owner and glass artist in downtown Port "A".
Port A Glass
When Harvey rolled in, her shop and studio were directly in line with it's landfall and the storm has caused extreme damage to her home, reports indicate that her home may be uninhabitable.
Presently she is safe in San Antonio waiting out the storm and grasping at whatever news is coming from Port Aransas. Information, being spotty-at-best is indicating that in many areas, the damage is complete.
As Sheri recovers from the impact of the storm, we know her focus will be on her neighbors and rebuilding her beloved Port Aransas.
Her studio is located only seven feet above sea level and her personal recovery will be both laborious and expensive. She and her 3 cats will need a place to live, recover and rebuild her community.
Sheri is an incredibly generous human being and would never ask for assistance. She, rather, would be the first to give it. Sheri's friends and I are working to relieve at least some of the burdens she faces.
This fund has been created so Sheri can afford the repairs to her home, restore her business and rebuild her community. Sheri will be the beneficiary of this GoFundMe campaign and will be able to withdraw funds directly and as needed.
Thoughts, prayers, and donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance for your generosity.
Wow, what a difference a day makes! Today we moved into a small condo just 20 minutes from Port A. We then went to the studio and got right down to work. Good news, most of my artwork is in tact, perhaps that should be my new slogan, "strong enough to withstand Harvey", lol. Bad news, all of my equipment is toast. Still can't even get into garage but there is enough to do inside. Went by the Condo and despite not have walls/roof on the front , maybe some of the living room is in tact....For now we are focusing on the studio. A friend suggested I make an amazon wish list so I will be doing that tonight. Overall a super productive day! So blessed and thankful to all the help. Total strangers driving around delivering water, tools, plastic bags, etc. restaurants in town BBQ and providing hot meals and hug. The beautiful human spirit is alive and well in Port A.
