Shelly’s (a.k.a. Santa) Fight Against Cancer
For those who do not know about Sheldon “Shelly” De Hollander (a.k.a. Santa) – he has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Operable Small Cell Lung Cancer. His prognosis is not very promising but Shelly is going to fight it with everything he has got. The medical team told him the national standard for someone with this stage of cancer is 1 year. Recently his life insurance company cancelled his life insurance. So currently he has no life insurance. Although his health insurance will cover some of the medical bills, it will not cover everything. To help alleviate the worry about the bills, I am starting this GoFundMe page for him. Shelly has been involved with the Medina School Bus drivers, is a lifelong member of Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Department and has played Santa for nearly 30 years in the village. He has touched countless number of children and has loved doing it. He cares about his family, his friends, his community and the kids he helps daily during the school year. He would never ask for help so I am asking for him. Money is tight for everybody but even more so when given the blow that he has been given. Any amount that you can donate is greatly appreciated.
He is currently struggling with the effects of the chemo treatments he started this past week.
