She Shall Not Be Moved @ Edinburgh Fringe Festival
"This fresh, original piece of writing, set in a modern day witch trial, is a meditation on what it means to be a woman; the challenges we face, and how they break us, bind us, and shape us into the women we become."
She Shall Not Be Moved is a joint production from Black Ginger (Amelia Rose Wooding, Sabine Jones) and Stuffed Puffin Productions (Kate Stevens).
Who We Are
Black Ginger’s mission is to tell the stories of diverse people often overlooked in the modern theatre scene. We make work that elevates the voices of women, those on the LGBTQ spectrum, and people of colour. Together we try to push boundaries, lay it all bare, and make art a reflection of the world we live in.
Stuffed Puffin aims to create work for young people by young people, by focusing on relevant and current conversations.
What We’re Doing
In February 2019, we shut ourselves away in a bolthole in Lancaster, our mission: write a play. It was stressful, exciting, crazy, and most of all cathartic. When we emerged we had written a show inspired by our own experiences and the experiences of the women around us.
In keeping with our companies’ missions, we want to take this show to the fringe to tell those stories and give more women a voice.
