Support EMT/FF Shawn Betts

On October 18th, while on an ambulance call, Shawn knew something was wrong. His heart started beating really fast, there was a tightness in his chest, and he felt like he might pass out.

It turns out Shawn's heart was in supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) -- an abnormally fast heart rhythm caused by abnormal electrical activity in the upper parts of the heart. Shawn's heart was beating nearly 250 times per minute!

Thankfully, medical staff were able to get Shawn's heart to beat normally again. But the doctors have ordered Shawn to undergo a cardiac ablation -- a procedure that destroys faulty heart tissue to correct the abnormal electrical signals that cause the rapid heartbeat. Shawn will be forced to miss up to 3 months of work, all of which will be unpaid.

We all know the strain that medical bills can put on anyone...let alone someone receiving no income. Shawn has dedicated his life to helping those in need. Now we need to help Shawn in his. Any amount of money will be helpful and greatly appreciated by Shawn and his recent fiancee, Elena.
