Shanda Crisman Memorial Fund

It is with a heavy heart that we honor and remember the sharp wit and contagious laughter that Shanda Crisman brought to our world. Shanda was a tremendously compassionate friend to everyone she knew and nothing made her happier than spending time with her friends and family. Having been born with developmental disabilities never stopped Shanda from passionately, fiercely striving for independence. She was a fixture at Hands of Heartland, working the reception desk greeting guests, helping others, and was actively involved in Special Olympics, bowling and soft ball. She was excited for the summer and on this past Friday was looking forward to walking home with her friends. We are all shocked and in disbelief that our sweet friend passed this morning, June 6th, 2016.

Shanda’s parents blessed the world with a woman that touched the lives of many and allowed us to experience genuine kindness and friendship. Right now, Shanda’s co-workers at Hands of Heartland are asking for donations to help her family cover her funeral expenses. Shanda was on disability and had no life insurance and because of the sudden nature of her death, her family was not prepared financially for these costs. We are hoping to raise enough to relieve some of the burden of Shanda’s passing. Any contributions you are able to give are greatly appreciated and will go to assisting her parents with the costs that they incur.
