Michael Delfin fund

$3,930 of $4,000 goal

Saturday night, my husband, got attacked by 2 guys at a local bar in Sacramento. Of all things, they attacked him claiming Stolen Valor. The Air Force guy asked Michael for his military ID and since it wasn't an active duty ID... He claimed Michael never served. Michael served honorably in the Marine Corps for 12 years and IS a combat veteran. We have to go back to the orthopedic doctor. His leg is fractured and they believe his jaw is fractured.  While his medical cost are covered by the VA, he is out of work while he recovers from this unjustified attack.   He is the loving father of 4 children.  And while I working, it will be hard to continue to make ends meet, work and care for Michael while he recovers.  You can read the whole post on my facebook.

It's been a little while since we have done an update... Michael has returned to work!!! Although he isn't walking "normal" still, he is working. Being the wonderful man, father and husband he is and trying to make sure to provide for his family. We have progress on the case, but we are letting the pieces fall in place. We are so thankful for everyone's love and support during these times. Every donation, every kind word, every bit of your support has mattered. I am personally so thankful for Michaels boss and all the guys he works with. They have all made the world or difference :) As soon as I can, I will update everyone with the progress in the case. But as we all know, loose lips sinks ships.... So, until these guys are brought down... There will be a big celebration for Michael!

Michael is doing better. His leg is still pretty swollen, but he is being able to eat a little more daily. We still don't have an update of when he will be able to return to work. He is in good spirits. Just celebrated our daughters birthday, Marine Corps birthday, Veterans day and my birthday. Holidays are fast approaching. We have almost met our goal that we set. We appreciate all the donations and all the continued support. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Just an update: Michael had to go back to the hospital yesterday. We were worried about a possible blood clot forming in his leg. Thankfully no blood clot. He has the start of compartment syndrome. So he is continuing to take it easy on his leg and rest. We don't know yet if it means he will be out of work for longer or not. We did hear from the Air Force investigator today. So that's a positive. Please continue to share his story and keep checking back for updates. Again, we appreciate all the love and support during this time. ❤️❤️❤️

Here is the update after Michaels appointment. Best possible place for a fracture, I know the news report said it was his tibia, but it is a fibula fracture. His leg remains vulnerable for the next 6 weeks. He will be wearing a soft immobilizing cast to help protect his leg and an ankle brace. He is encouraged to take it easy on his leg. So he still won't be able to return back to work for a bit. After the swelling has gone down in his jaw, it's a hairline fracture, and it will heal up with out needing wiring shut. But to stay away from eating solids. We have to follow up with ortho. Thank you for all your support during this!

First time using this so I forgot to comment, but I'm just a poor college kid so it's not much. My dad is a RET/LTC and I was following a military path before things happened. One thing I can't stand is idiotics like those who assaulted you. I hope for a speedy recovery. Drink water and enjoy the time with family!

I am truly appauled that this happened. Sharing and hoping his recovery goes smoothly and that the 2 airmen get what they deserve. I served 8 years with 2 deployments. Those airmen were a disgrace to the uniform

I heard through a co worker here at the VA that your car was broken into at the Palladio Mon night. They broke into my daughter's car that night too, but there were no xmas presents stolen as in your case. I hope this little bit helps bring back Christmas for you and your children!
