Gaura needs Help

Dear Animal Lovers,
We desperately need your help to help our beloved cat, Gaura.
Gaura has had an accident, we are not sure how it happened, but the Doctor told us it was most likely a car, or a large dog.
Gaura is an adventurous one year old male cat who we have been caring for since his mom, who was a stray, birthed him under our house!

Gaura has become a part of our family, and he is especially doted on by our daughter, who had been begging for a pet cat for years, and has finally had that wish fulfilled. The two of them are totally inseparable.

Yesterday Gaura dragged himself into our house, he was obviously looking to us to help him in his hour of need. He could barely walk, and his breathing was laboured. He crouched on the floor, looking at us, waiting for us to help him.
We took him to the vet pronto, and the vet after examining him and doing some x-rays, told us that he has a ruptured diaphragm and his intestines, stomach and liver are in his chest cavity.
She reccommends immediate surgery or euthanasia. She said that he has a very good chance of making it through the surgery because he is a young and healthy cat.
The fee for the surgery $5000-$8000, depending on what they discover when they open him up.
We would never hesitate to pay this to have Gaura well again, if we had the money, but the truth is that we do not have that kind of money. We could barely pay for the $417 fee to keep him stable over night while we figure how to raise the money for the surgery.
We love Gaura so much, he is such a friendly, loving, outgoing cat, we believe with all our hearts that he deserves to have a chance at living.
We are hoping to raise enough money to give him that chance.
We are heartbroken that Gaura is suffering, and your donations will help us afford the care that he deserves.
Please help if you can, it would mean so much to our entire family, and to Gaura, who has, in one short year, become so dear to us.
