Megan fell ill over Christmas and lost sight in one eye. On Friday,  she went to hospital and has since remained in intensive care, unresponsive and unconscious. Also worth pointing out that Megan was expecting and so had to undergo emergency C-section to save the baby. As Megan is originally from America, all her family and friends live there and now need to fly over to support Megan, Brad and their children. We've therefore launched this appeal to raise funds to support the family. Despite the gloomy report from the medical staff, we know our God is able to heal and restore.

Megan Franklin died at 17:18 this afternoon. Because of her trust in Jesus as Lord and Saviour, we know she is now with her Father in heaven. The name of the Lord be praised.

Well done good and faithful servant; enter into the joy of your master.

"The doctors and consultants have a few more tests to run to see if there’s any possibility of activity in Megan’s brain stem, and then, if the results are negative, they will begin the process of removing life support, likely tomorrow. Please pray for a clear result to those tests. We thank God his word gives us a framework for answering difficult questions like this. God is hearing our prayers and demonstrating his goodness, even if it’s not in a way that any of us would have chosen. Praise be to his holy name.

This tragic situation shows us our need of Christ and his body, the local church. That has been abundantly clear, though we realise this is true in all circumstances, not merely the difficult times. But because of this situation, please be with God’s people tomorrow. Be with a gospel-preaching and Bible-believing congregation. That’s what Brad and Megan have lived for.

Pray for Brad and for the decisions he will have to make in the immediate future. Pray Christ would be exalted and his bride would be strengthened. Pray his will be done. Pray for soft and receptive hearts to the gospel.

Psalm 103.8-18 The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbour his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust. As for man, his days are like grass, he flourishes like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more. But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children—with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts"

Update: 10.30pm 04/01/19

"The doctors think it will take another 12 hours for the sedatives to fully work out of Megan’s system. After that process is complete, then they begin the process of life support removal...

Deuteronomy 1:30–31 The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the desert. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place"

"Megan’s condition continues to remain the same, but the sedatives have now been fully removed. It will be a number of hours before they’ve fully left her system and the doctors can begin the process of life support removal. They think the end may be sometime this weekend. But again, none of this is certain. Pray for Brad and the children.

Psalm 73.23-26 - Yet I am with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterwards you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion for ever"
