I’m Claudia Platt, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease on 5/29/09. Currently in remission, recently diagnosed with PTSD, ADHD, severe anxiety, & severe depression. I’m a stay-at-home-mother to almost 5 y/o Violeta who’s high functioning autistic, & been married 7 years to my hubs Adam who’s currently going to school & working full-time.
Unfortunately don’t have family who live close by to help out as often as needed but they do help when they can. My anxiety has gotten much worse & unfortunately medication doesn’t work because it legit knocks me out for 12 hours & since Violeta isn’t in school all day nor old enough to take care of herself yet that’s not an option for me.
New therapist & I decided that instead a psychiatric service dog will be best option. I get bad separation anxiety & often with Crohn’s Disease symptoms of extreme fatigue to not be able to function properly. A psychiatric service dog will help keep me calm when I get anxiety attacks, alert me to when I get violent/rage episodes, & help brace me during my dizzy spells when I’m home alone. Winter is when my depression & Crohn’s gets the worse cuz of how often I get sick & usually end up malnourished (lowest so far is 85lbs, weight varies between that up to 100lbs).
Unfortunately until Adam at least finishes his Bachelors next summer then however long it takes to find a better paying job we currently can’t afford the funds to pay & train the dog. I honestly hate asking for help. Thank you for reading my story & I hope y’all can help out so I can function enough & be able to be a better wife & mother. My goal is to raise $2,500 minimum by January 15th cuz that’s how much my pup costs, the extra $400-$500 is to help pay for delivery since he’s in PA & I’m in Utah. & the last $500-$600 is to help pay for vet visits, & food
