Service dog For Jade

Jade is a 12 year old vibrant girl in need of a service dog. Jade has been fighting PICA her whole life. PICA is an eating disorder which has led to several medical issues. Jade has level 3 autism which is where her PICA comes from. She fights every day to try her best not to put things in her mouth but her sense of awareness is not there. Through out the years she has had a few bouts with poisoning from various items from lead poisoning to alcohol poisoning from hand sanitizer. Now going into a high school environment she no longer has one/two teacher classes who kept a watchful eye on her to now nine teachers with 45 minuet classes, with her anxiety levels heighten her PICA has increased. Jade was introduced to a service dog a few weeks ago who will help her with her PICA and sitting there watching her interact with the dog knowing that she was able to become the child she always wanted to be, her anxiety was gone and not once during that time did she have to be told to get something out of her mouth and that feeling for me as her mom was amazing. She was able to break out of her shell just for that short time and be 12. After fighting with the insurance company even though PICA is a life threatening illness they have left me with a hefty balance of $17,000 to complete the payment for this life saving dog. As her mom this life saving tool is the best way for her to finally be a child with disabilities a little bit more independent in her everyday living at home, at school, and in social settings.
