Assisting Refugees in Brussels
Serve the City Brussels organizes monthly and weekly activities in which local volunteers all throughout the city can come together and help asylum seekers who have just arrived, as well as those who already staying at refugee centers.
To respond to the growing need of homeless asylum seekers, the Serve the City Food4Friends team, which usually serves Mondays and Thursdays at Gare du Nord, is now serving refugees every day at Park Maximillian. Food4Friends distributes food, warm drinks, cookies, hygiene products, clothes, sleeping bags, and other needed goods to the asylum seekers living at the park.
Serving asylum seekers is not something new for Serve the City. We have been present for years at local refugee centers and homeless shelters, where volunteers provide activities for children, language lessons, friendship, and so much more. We are calling on people inspired by the crisis to get involved to think not just of our newest asylum seekers, but of the many who have been waiting for years to find a country they can call home. Please join us now and in the future as we continue to build bridges of compassion and friendship with our new neighbors.
Please consider giving to these different programs run by Serve the City so that the urgent and long-term needs of the most vulnerable people in Brussels can be met. Your donation will go towards food, hot beverages, warm clothing, teaching supplies, arts and crafts materials, and other items that are needed.
Thank you for your help! Many people doing small things together can make a big difference!
