Sergeant Simonds Cancer Treatment

Recently, Brian was diagnosed with cancer. Like many people who are met with this sobering diagnosis, it came as a surprise and a host of emotions. 

Brian wears many hats. He is a husband, a father of 6 children, including 15 month old twins, and a Sergeant with the Dallas Police Department. It is safe to say many people at home and in the community rely on him. 

Surgery is scheduled to happen within the next few weeks, at which time they will learn more about his prognosis and whether the cancer has spread, which is a concern at the moment. 

With any surgery and cancer diagnosis, there are a few certainties.

First being a loss of wages. Like most police officers, he works a steady schedule of "extra jobs"  and overtime to make additional money for his family.

Secondly, the accumulation of medical bills. Even with insurance, the costs will add up quickly and all money raised will go toward offsetting these expenses. 

Brian is the Captain and founder of the Dallas Police Hockey team which has raised tens of thousands of dollars since its creation helping officers in need.

Now it is time to help someone who has helped so many himself.
