My brother Drake Scott started writing songs when he was 7 years old and never stopped. Rap was his passion, but his tastes ranged wide. He really wanted to be that star. He wanted someone to see him and recognize him.
But just after midnight on Wednesday morning, moments after he finished a set at City Limits Saloon in Randolph, My brother was murdered as he was leaving City Limits.
My brother was a smart young man who got his GED at age 16, then attended Massachusetts Bay Community College and the New England Institute of Art for music, He did not graduate, but did get into trouble when he was younger, but in recent years he had been focused exclusively on his music career.
He was proud of his most recent song, “Young Simba,” In it, he sang about his struggles and dreams, called my mother his queen, and implored: “If I die tonight make sure my story is told.”
Drake was loved by so many and his story will be told and he will be greatly missed.
