Send Rose to Newark!

Hi, my name is Rose Mendonca. I'm an independent filmmaker residing in Sacramento, California. I recently graduated film school and my senior thesis film, Laundromat will be showing at the Newark International Film Festival which runs from September 9-11, 2016.

I'm flying to Newark to attend the film festival, but I also really want to see my family on the East Coast, since it's been five years.


This is my 90-year-old grandmother, Shirley Cooper, the most stylish New England lady I know. She and I are very close, even though I live across the country from her, and I just have to see her. She lives in Harpswell, Maine, which is seven hours away from Newark.

So, after the Newark International Film Festival concludes, I plan to drive to Maine. This will require renting a car, which is pricey. However, I know I cannot put a price on time with my family.

I'm going to the East Coast, whether I raise the money or not, but I could really use your help. If you're not able to donate, I completely understand! It would help me a lot if you share my campaign.
