Send Marysia to SANCA!

Hi friends! My name is Marysia, and I recently had the privilege of auditioning and being accepted to SANCA , a full time, professional circus training program in Seattle . This has been a dream of mine since I started training physical circus arts seriously six years ago, and it’s unbelievably exciting to be standing on the verge of going to school to work full-time on my passions in a focused, intensive environment.

I’ll be straight up here- I’m not a typical circus student. I started this passion late in life, with none of the typical physical background most professional circus artists possess. I’ve had to develop an intense level of self-motivation and stubbornness to even get to the point where I could audition for a major circus school, and going to SANCA represents years of sweat, blood, and work.

At the moment, I’m incredibly fortunate to currently be working my dream job, doing outreach circus coaching for at-risk and underprivileged kids through The Circus Project  . Like a lot of dream jobs in the social circus field, it affords me to ability to do deeply soul satisfying work, while also just squeaking by financially. Unfortunately, “just squeaking by” doesn’t cover tuition for a professional circus program, for which I need to take time off work to focus completely on my training.

The full cost of SANCA’s tuition is $9,750, which doesn’t include housing or living expenses. I’ve been hustling non-stop as a coach, performer, and street performance artist for the past several months to pull together the funds I need for tuition, and I’m confident that I can pull together half of the tuition money on my own before I move to Seattle in August. For the other half of my tuition, I’m reaching out to my community, my beloved friends and family who have been so supportive of my circus work and asking, for the first time, for your financial help in pursuing my dreams.

I believe the greatest thanks I can give to everyone supporting me is to turn these skills towards enriching the lives of underprivileged youth with social circus once I finish the program- but in the immediate, I’d like to offer a few tokens of my appreciation.

Whatever you can give, including your time reading this and a moment to share it with your networks, means the world to me. Thank for, from the bottom of my heart, for helping me reach for my dreams.
