Hello!  Our father,  Robert W. Almquist is 95 years old and a proud WWII veteran who served aboard the USS Oakland and continued his service for another 30 years in the U. S. Naval reserve.  He recently suffered the loss of his wife after 67 years of marriage.  His greatest wish now is to travel to California to visit a sailor's tribute plaque in his name and to see his ship's mast proudly displayed at Middle Harbor Shoreline Park in Oakland. Our family would be most grateful for any contribution that we will put toward this great adventure!  Thank you!
