Send Tia to Project Walk

Donation protected
My name is Tia and I'm a student at Xavier University of Louisiana. When I was 16, I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer. I had 6 rounds of chemo, followed by a major 2-part surgery, and then 5 more rounds of chemo. Because of where the tumor was, the right side of my pelvis, some vertebrates in my lower spine, and a few nerves had to be removed.

This left me with the loss of mobility in my right leg. Since my surgery, I've worked with a few physical therapists and I also do my own regimen at a community pool. As a result, I've regained strength in some parts in my leg. But because of how complex my situation is, I need someone who specialize in paralysis recovery.

Project Walk is an intense physical therapy rehabilitation center where 71% of their patients improve their function below their level of injury. And after doing my own research, speaking with a rep from Project Walk, and getting the OK from my doctor, I decided that I would attend the program. It's not covered by insurance, though, and I live in New Orleans but the closest location is in Houston. So the money received will go towards travel, accommodations, but more importantly, the program itself. Any donation is really appreciated!

Thanks. Please spread the word and keep me in your prayers!
