Send My Mom Sailing

I am raising money to help my Mom, Cindy, set sail! She has been invited to be a crew member on a sailing trip from Maryland to Florida and beyond. This sailing adventure will be about 6 months, possibly longer as the crew has discussed further adventures beyond Florida.
I will never forget the passion I saw in her eyes when we would be sitting on the beach talking about dreams and goals, hers always including the ocean, living on a sail boat, and circumnavigating this beautiful world. Now she has an opportunity to gain valuable experience on a sail boat, which is a GIANT step towards her life goals.
Several years ago, Cindy went back to school and became a marine technician. After graduating she has been working on boats and learning to sail. About a year and a half ago Cindy took a job and moved to Maryland where she could gain valuable experience and knowledge to further her career. During this trip, she will expand her sailing experience in navigation, being on watch, weather observation, and living on a boat full time.
My mom is the most important woman in my life, and I want more than anything to see her achieve her dreams. My mom has raised 3 kids on her own, it has been finacially very difficult. She always encouraged us to reach for our dreams and to never let anything stand in the way. I am being that same cheerleader now for her. Never let your dreams go, anything is possible when you set your mind to it. My mom is currently scheduled to set sail September/October 2017. I would love to send her off with all the gear she needs.
The funds raised with your support will be used to get my mom supplies such as a personal AIS locator, harness & tether, offshore PFD, basic foul weather gear and a laptop for navigation, writing and staying in contact.
